ASUU Strike: NANS threatens mass protest

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) under the leadership of Aruna Kadiri, has threatened to shut down the federal republic of Nigeria if government fails to resolve with the striking lecturers.

This was contained in a statement signed by the union President, Aruna Kadiri, titled;
"FG Must Resolve With ASUU Or Face Student Mass Action."

It states, "For more than two weeks now, our students have been at home for no fault of ours. It is good and gratifying that FG and ASUU are meeting today to resolve the impasse".

"We urge them to find a common ground in the interest of education. The FG must do everything possible to get ASUU back to the classrooms since the strike was a result of their inability to honour their negotiated agreement with ASUU.

"Consequently, the NANS under my leadership shall commence a mass action for students to return to their classrooms from September 5th, 2017. The convergence ground will be Unity Fountain, Abuja at 10am. We have had enough of toying with the future of students".
